Tomorrow is Halloween! To get in the mood, we went to Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens on Tuesday and had an amazing time. There are still a couple nights left (ends November 1st), but in case you’re planning your trip for next year, I highly recommend going on a weeknight. We zipped through all the haunted houses, rides, and shows with no lines at all, plus got home by 11pm to get some sleep for work the next day.

How will you be spending your Halloween?
In today’s edition:
Family halloween events for the kids
Bar crawls for the (big) kids
Food, wine, and/or taco festivals
City updates
Manatee spa
Unique art experiences

BAYFRONT BULLETIN
🍊 On Wednesday, St. Pete celebrated the grand opening of the “Sunshine City Mosaic,” a public art project transforming a sidewalk with 15,000 pieces of porcelain tile and glass. The mosaic, created by artists Alex Kaufman, George Retkes, and Laura Spencer, showcases wildlife native to the area and aims to bring attention to Sunset Park. The $50,000 project highlights the importance of public art in enhancing community spaces.

🏟️ Want to make your voice heard about the Historic Gas Plant District? On Saturday, November 1 from 9:30am - 3:30pm at Thrive DTSP there will be a Clean Energy & Community Workshop hosted by the Sierra Club to bring together local leaders, residents, and innovators to reimagine the Historic Gas Plant District.
🛥️ Greenleaf Capital has revised its $33 million redevelopment plan for its Tierra Verde Marina, adding 2,400 square feet of retail space and emphasizing public access to the restaurant and bar. The redevelopment aims to accommodate up to 711 boats, making it the second-largest storage facility in Florida, which has raised concerns among some residents about environmental and traffic impacts.
MUST SEA EVENT

This week’s featured event is Savor St. Pete, a waterfront weekend featuring region's best chefs and restaurants for an unforgettable tasting experience. Dubbed “the hippest, most exciting, two-day food, wine, and craft beer festival on Florida’s West Coast,” this is one you won’t want to miss.
The festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, Nov 1 and 2, at Vinoy Park. Tickets start at $120. You can get tickets or learn more here.

The average customer will see an 8.78% increase in their utility bill, with funds allocated to projects like stormwater mitigation, wastewater system upgrades, and equipment replacements. The city offers payment plans and assistance programs for customers facing financial hardship. Read more about the changes.
The City of St. Petersburg is launching “Imagine the Deuces,” a revitalization initiative for the historic 22nd Street South corridor. The project aims to restore the area’s legacy by investing in people and places, including affordable housing, new parks, and support for private business growth. A community update session will be held on October 30th to discuss neighborhood developments. Learn more about the plans.

FRESH CAUGHT FEATURES
NEATURE!
Because nature is pretty neat.
Manatee viewing is back!

The pictures don’t do it justice. There are hundreds!
I always love spotting manatees when I’m out paddleboarding. But for a guaranteed manatee viewing experience, check out TECO’s Manatee Viewing Center. Because of the warm water circulated into the bay by the power plant, the manatees congregate outside in the colder months to keep warm.
The viewing center is a state and federally designated manatee sanctuary that provides critical protection from the cold. There are also other activities like a ray touch tank, walking trails, and education building. It’s free to visit daily from 10am-5pm starting November 1 through April 15.
See the manatees at 6990 Dickman Rd., Apollo Beach, FL 33572. Learn more.
CREATIVE COAST

This week, we’re highlighting FloridaRAMA: an immersive art experience in St. Pete that's cooler than a museum, smarter than a theme park, and weirder than a carnival, offering playful installations, games, events, and a unique venue for events.
It’s also the last weekend for you to catch Pumpkins & Pythons, which brings immersive art, hands-on exhibits, and giant snakes for a unique Halloween experience.

CATCH OF THE DAY

This week’s adoptable pet is Hunter, a dignified gentleman looking for a bff. He says he will keep you company on walks, keep your feet warm while watching tv in the evenings, and gladly share your meals with you! Hunter walks great on a leash and has been very well behaved at all of the events he has attended with the shelter. He loves to get out and socialize! He is an 8 year old, 74 pound pit mix. Thanks to the Pit Project and his sponsor, Randy Funk, his adoption fee is $75. You must own your home to adopt him.
If you’d like to meet Hunter, visit Pet Pal Animal Shelter.
