COMMUNITY CURRENTS
BAYFRONT BULLETIN
🦀 It’s stone crab season! The best crab (sorry to my Maryland-native wife, blue crab has nothing on stone crab) is back with prices holding steady from the last few seasons. Pent up demand drives up prices in the first few weeks, so if you can bear to hold off, you may find better deals early next month.
🏟️ After ARK Invest’s proposal, the city announced it would solicit additional proposals for the redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant District in mid-November.
🪧 St. Pete Beach bar the Undertow caused a splash on social media for putting up Private Beach, No Trespassing, and other signs prohibiting alcohol, coolers, tents, umbrellas, chairs, pets, etc on the beach at the high water mark line. City code enforcement ordered that the signs be removed or risk fines, but some uncertainty remains about the legality.
MUST SEA EVENT

This week’s featured event is St. Pete’s largest street festival–Halloween on Central. The event transforms 22 blocks between the Edge and Grand Central Districts into a family-friendly Halloween extravaganza. Dress up in your best costume and come enjoy the entertainment, vendors, live music, candy and fun for all ages.
Sunday, October 26th, 2025 Noon-5PM. More Details.
(Or, if you can’t make it, avoid Central on Sunday 😉.)
SUNCOAST SPORTS

The Rowdies play their last home game of the season on Saturday against Detroit City FC. Take advantage of your last chance this year to root on your local team at Al Lang Stadium and enjoy the post match fireworks! The evening weather has been lovely, so there’s no better time to do it.
Kickoff is at 7:30p on Oct 25th. You can pick up tickets here.

FRESH CAUGHT FEATURES
BUSINESS BUOY
Collaborative Flower Power
Two amazing florists, Arms of Persephone and The Roaming Petal, have teamed up to open a super cool new shop in Euclid Heights, complete with a drive-thru and a lush garden! They're not just selling flowers, they're creating a whole experience with workshops and events, so you can get your bloom on and maybe even craft a Blossom & Brooms masterpiece next week. It's the perfect spot to grab a handcrafted bouquet, learn some floral magic, or just hang out in the garden with a picnic.
Be on the lookout for their grand opening celebration on November 4, with vendors, music, activities, and refreshments.
COASTAL CRAVINGS

Ready to eat some of the aforementioned stone crab? Madeira Beach hosts the 44th Annual John’s Pass Seafood festival with fresh Gulf seafood, vendors, live music, and activities for the entire family (Friday Trick-or-Treating, Saturday Adult Costume Contest).
The event takes place on throughout John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk from Friday Oct 24-Sunday Oct 26. Events start at 3p on Friday afternoon. More details.
CATCH OF THE DAY

This week’s adoptable pet is Boo, a 2 month old puppy from Friend of Strays shelter. She is sweet and timid, and will likely be a big girl when she grows up.
Unfortunately, the Friend of Strays van blew a tire and was in an accident this past week while returning from picking up 14 cats and dogs. Everyone is safe, but the shelter will need to purchase a new van to keep up with their mission. They are currently raising money for this.
If you’d like to donate or are interested in Boo, visit the Friend of Strays website.
